If you travel abroad a lot through work, the amount your operator charges for international calls becomes very important. It's worth noting that when abroad, users are charged for receiving calls as well as making them. If you travel to the USA and selected countries around the world you will require a tri-band or quad-band phone to make and receive calls and messages.
Vodafone roaming
Vodafone have several add ons to help you reduce costs when travelling on business.
Roaming bundles
Suitable for low, medium and heavy usage.
- three roaming bundles available, 60, 120 & 500 minutes

- incremental discounts on 120 and 500 minute add on's
- a minimum 30 second call charge, after which, per second increment will apply
Vodafone Europe
Suitable for frequent European travellers with heavy usage but do not want a fixed contract.
- pay £20 a month and benefit from 5per minute and 5p texts in 12 European countries
- free to receive calls within the Vodafone Europe footprint and billing will be per second
- texts from the 12 European countries back to the UK will be at the customer domestic rate
- international calls are 5p per minute
- UK to UK calls and text will be at the customer domestic rate
Vodafone passport
A simple international price plan for Vodafone Business customers.
Each time you make a call from the most popular European destinations – whether back to the UK or within the country you're in, you pay a standard connection charge of 64p (ex VAT) per call and the rest of the call either uses minutes included in the bundle or is charged at the published domestic rate.
For receiving calls – it's just as simple. You pay a 64p (ex VAT) connection charge for each call answered within Europe and 75p for the rest of the world then all calls come out of inclusive minutes, after which standard home rates apply.

Vodafone world
This is the default plan if customer is not on Roaming Bundles, Vodafone Europe and Vodafone Passport and is suitable if you expect very low usage.
- a minimum 30 second call charge, after which, per second increments will apply
- a call within the UK will cost no more than 33p per minute
- to receive a call within the EU with International Call Saver: No more than 15p per minute
- receive a call within the EU without International Call Saver: No more than 16p per minute
- sending a SMS: 9.7p ex VAT within all European countries with no additional domestic charge applied
